Cody’s LASIK in Bloomington, MN

“I didn’t realize how bad it was until I could start seeing again”

I’m Cody Fleury I’m 29 years old just turned 29 actually and i’m having LASIK done you know you don’t really notice your vision getting bad until you notice it getting bad right like you’re just like oh I can’t see you know I think I was in the military and when I went to basic training I remember going through the vision test and all that which is the first time I’d ever done that and they issued me these big nerdy glasses I hated wearing them and I only wore them when I shot you know so I could shoot well and then I’d always hide them and I’d never wear them cause so that’s when I kind of noticed and then cause I’m nearsighted so I can see this fine but I yeah that’s nothing to me now so it’s more that I choose not to wear if I can get away with not wearing them I’ll choose not to wear them My fiancé got LASIK done here and I remember picking her up and that’s the first time I met Dr. Chu and such a funny down to earth guy I mean like it’s not your typical kinda doctor-patient relationship where you’re sitting there and you’re like they’re telling you all these terms that don’t make sense to you you know he’s I could see myself having a conversation outside of here with the guy he’s very easy to get along with. It’s just going to be weird not having these things to put on. yeah so I’m really excited

Yeah so I got the opportunity to get LASIK done with you guys and I did it and I love I love it immediately I think what was it two days later or a day later they have you come back and I had 20/20 vision right away Um so I jokingly was saying it felt like a terminator movie but it it the technology is so cool that’s why I didn’t realize that there was two separate stations so then you lay on the table and the laser’s painless I mean I I keep trying to describe it to people the best way to describe it is if you were looking through a camera lens and somebody is touching the other end of the camera lens you don’t feel it but you can see it but you’re relaxed because of how everybody is and you know super relaxed they have a great sense of humor which helped it’s just looking at a light there’s no pain I didn’t even feel pain after to be honest the closest thing to discomfort that I have felt at all is your eyes can get dry a little bit but that’s not even that none of it has been bad at all it’s been a painless process metaphorically and literally so I was sitting there I look at the first laser and he said oh the perfect flap and right when he said that it went blurry which that’s the part I thought was going to freak me out the most was knowing like if you think about what they’re doing it might freak you out but I wasn’t because I couldn’t feel anything um it felt like they were cleaning my eye so it’s blurry they swing me over to the other table you look at the light and then all of a sudden you can see again which was really cool that’s the last thing I’ll say about the procedure is um I only took a day off work it was very quick very quick I mean you go in there you’re probably in there it must be five minutes if that you know five to ten very happy I’d do it all over again if I could but I don’t have to so yeah my tv at my house is kind of like further back and like if I play video games or something like that I always have to grab my chair and sit in front of there’s like the couch tv and it’s a decent size tv and then I sit here but I could actually sit on my couch and I was like woah and I looked in my kitchen and saw the time for me I didn’t realize how bad it was until I could start seeing again if that makes sense so I was like wow I really I used to not be able to see that and now I can so that was unbelievable and then yeah cause my fiancé was like what time is it and I just leaned over and said the time like nothing happened and I was like wait a second and did one of these you know looking back and forth but yeah so  I noticed very quickly  like I wish everybody that thought their vision was even okay did it because you can see literally a drastic difference I can actually easily say that it is the best medical experience that I’ve ever had I’ve never gone somewhere and felt like everybody even after it’s not like alright you’re done with your surgery see ya you know I call you can tell when somebody is smiling on the phone poeple are great happy it’s not like I’m dreading coming here I can’t say thank you enough thank you because I can’t say thank you enough for how fantastic it’s been I’m not tripping over things and I can actually see what’s coming and what’s not so if you’re going to do anything with your eyes, come here because they are I genuinely feel like you guys have looked out for my best interest just thinking about it more and more it blows my mind that it happened and it happened so quick and then yeah it’s a life-changing thing so for the better.
