PROCEDURE DETAILS
I am 88 years old and I have a wife with dementia, leaving my plate full. When I originally came in for cataract surgery, I was told I would have to put multiple eye drops in multiple times a day for 30 days. When I would come back for my second eye surgery I have to do the same thing. I knew I would never be able to do all the drops; just looking at the chart to put drops in my eyes would be too much for me. That’s when I backed off from having cataract surgery. Recently, my neighbor was telling me that he and his wife just had surgery with Dr. Chu at Chu Vision Institute and they only had to use one drop in their eyes after surgery, with the new less drop option offered now. I said I can handle that. I could put the drop in when I take my medications every day, that’s manageable. I can have the surgery now with little change to my life.
