5 Things to be Thankful for After Laser Vision Correction

Back to Blog

There are so many things to be thankful for. Our patients at Chu Vision Institute tell us all the time what they are thankful for after they get LASIK, SMILE, or PRK laser vision correction. Here is a list of 5 things our patients have said they are thankful for after LASIK, SMILE, or other vision correction procedure.

1. 24/7 Sight

Literally the day after [LASIK], it was so clear and I was like “Oh my god, this isn’t right” because I was so used to just waking up and being a little blurry just because I was so nearsighted and just waking up to it, I was like “Well, this is a good change!” – Tina

2. Less hassle

I always tried to wear contacts for any outdoor stuff. Mainly because in the cold weather they [glasses] would fog up. Seemed like you were constantly switching back and forth from glasses to contacts to sunglasses and if there was a method to kind of change that and improve that whole process, that’s kind of what prompted me to start this discussion… I can tell you it’s been pretty nice. I do enjoy being able to go inside and outside and not have glasses fog up and constantly switching back and forth. – Brody

3. Peace of mind

I have a one-and-a-half-year-old. If something happened in the middle of the night, or I hear him in the middle of the night I don’t have to grab my glasses to be able to see the monitor. Or if I have to get up and go get him, I don’t have to fumble around for my glasses. It helps me feel a lot more at peace I think at night knowing that I would be able to see if there was some sort of emergency situation that makes me just feel so much more confident.  – Lindsay

4. No dry eyes

After one week, I don’t have any feeling with my eyes. I don’t have any dry eye problem. Everything just goes so normal. It’s super clear. And I just feel like it’s a whole new world to me. – Miaoli

5. Saving money

I don’t have to worry about losing my glasses any more or affording a $300, $400 pair, I mean even on the cheap side they’re still 2 – 250, you know. And when you put in a contact and you rip them, you don’t have to worry about “Oh, now I don’t have a set” and throw away the whole set just to keep on the sets that you have. – Ryan
