Professional Leadership in Ophthalmology

A Certified Ophthalmic Executive, Carrie is deeply engaged in the ophthalmic community. She currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) and has contributed her time and expertise to numerous committees over the years. She also shares her knowledge as a faculty member of the ASOA LEAD Certificate program and serves as a mentor in the ASOA Group Mentorship Program.

Carrie is a nationally recognized speaker, panelist, and podcast host. She frequently presents at leading ophthalmic symposiums and webinars, contributes to professional publications, and currently sits on the editorial board of Ophthalmic Professional magazine. In addition, she is part of the esteemed Hawaiian Eye program faculty, serves as the Administrator Program Chair for the Caribbean Eye Meeting, and is on the Board of Directors for OOSS (Ophthalmic Outpatient Surgical Society).

Outside of work, Carrie lives in Burnsville, Minnesota with her husband. She’s the proud mom of three grown children and finds joy in cooking, reading, staying active, and training for marathons as a passionate runner. Carrie lives in Burnsville, Minnesota with her husband and has three grown children. Executive Role at Chu Vision Institute

Carrie Jacobs serves as the Executive Vice President of Operations for Chu Vision Institute and is part of the Governing Body of Chu Surgery Center in Bloomington Minnesota. Carrie brings over 25 years of experience in ophthalmology and is a key innovator having managed several critical elements of the practice ranging from marketing and financial management to implementing electronic health records to opening Chu Surgery Center.

Carrie is a Certified Ophthalmic Executive and is an active member of the ASOA (American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators), having served on multiple committees over the years and is currently serving on the board of directors as President.
