Debra struggled with a lot of things even with glasses. She thought the glasses were constantly dirty but cleaning them did nothing to clear her vision! The team helped Debra make the right decision for her eyes and that was the basic cataract surgery option. After her eyes healed, she ended up with 20/20 vision in both eyes!

My name is Debra Broms and I had cataract surgery I was struggling with a lot of things even with glasses just reading was becoming complicated I kept trying to clean my glasses over and over and over again I tried everything to get them clean but I always had this like haziness or a glaze there and I couldn’t get rid of it and I thought it was the glasses and I’ve been wearing glasses for probably about 15 years so and they actually started to progress to get worse the team was really nice I think that they sat down and they spoke with me in a professional way during a pandemic and they took their time to make certain that I understood what to expect and what was happening at the time that they were testing me and that made me feel very comfortable and very relaxed and reassured that I was making a good decision. I met Dr Chu by teleconference for the first time during a pandemic and I will say even though it was through a teleconference it felt like we were right together I didn’t feel like he was at his office or wherever he was and I was at my house and I felt like I was I was in my environment my comfort zone anyway and I felt more comfortable and I with Dr Chu when I met him I just knew when I when I saw him and he said hi I was like oh I’m really going to like this doctor you could just tell by the way he smiled and he focused at the camera towards you like he was actually eye to eye with you and talking with you and I just felt like oh he’s gonna be an amazing doctor and he’s got this vibe this this vibe that he puts off he’s very excited you know enthusiastic and you can tell that when you’re talking to him. After the surgery that morning I was we were driving and i was starting to see things out of that eye even with the glasses that I sunglasses i had on we got home and i was noticing things too and I was telling him i never saw the bark that well on the tree before or the birds you know the definitions and their colors and I just like wow and my husband says they’ve always been that color and I’m like I never saw that and I was just like totally amazed I was just I can’t get over it I’m I’m sorry I I am still enthralled and excited about not having to pick up glasses you know and go read something or go to the mirror and like pluck an eyebrow so I was just I can’t say anything more I was just totally taken away blown away about my eyesight and I still am I would tell anybody that’s very hesitant or reluctant to do this just do it what do you got to lose you might get more than what you bargained for I got 20/20.
I couldn’t have asked for a better place and yes when i talk to people I tell them it’s a breeze getting the surgery can just open up so many doors without you know the cataracts you’ll see things that you’ve never seen or maybe not seen for a long time you know and just to have that it’s just amazing. it just you just don’t know what it’s like the joy it is the joy to have your eyesight it’s just been overwhelming I mean just to say that you know a miracle has happened I’m able to see!
