    Before I went to Dr. Chu my vision was 20/400. Thanks to Dr. Chu my vision is now 20/15 and has been since March of 2000. I can’t tell you how great it is to wake up and actually see the alarm clock in the middle of the night…to be able do all of my favorite activities without worrying about my glasses or contacts, like playing hockey, waterskiing and camping. I can read distant street signs when I’m driving, read my Twins magnet schedule from across the kitchen and most importantly, clearly see who is stepping into the batter’s box during the games. Having LASIK surgery at the Chu Vision Institute was one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

    One year without glasses and contacts and life is good. It’s hard to believe it’s already been 12 months since I broke free of the daily wrestling match with contacts, cleaners and cases-the whole mess. Lasik surgery was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It came just in time for another big decision.

    Julianna and I are the proud parents of twin boys. Patrick and Bryan joined the family last July. Double the baby fun means half as much time for mom and dad. I’ll take bottles of baby formula over bottles of contact solution any day. 20/20 vision also comes in very handy when you’re looking for a pacifier to stop a late-night cry. A glasses-free face is the only way to go when you’re holding two babies who grab anything at arms length.

    But the biggest benefit of my surgery comes in the wee hours of the morning. I now work the early shift at the radio station. What a treat it is to be able to sleep a little later-enjoying that time that I used to devote to coaxing contacts into my eyes at 3:00 a.m. Contacts were an incredibly bad way to start the day. Thankfully that’s all behind me.

    I’ll be in touch soon to schedule my one-year check up. Until then, thanks again for a year of life in 20/20-land. The view here is awesome.

    Anybody who wears glasses or contacts can “see” how great it would be not to need vision correction. I was very apprehensive about laser vision correction – until I met Dr. Chu and his staff. I’m still amazed at the improvement in my vision and how confident I was in taking the plunge that got me here.

    Very few things can be called truly “life changing.” Laser eye surgery from Dr. Ralph Chu is one of those things. I wore glasses and contacts from age eight, and my vision had an impact on EVERYTHING I did – whether reading from a chalkboard or swimming in a pool or working in a radio studio. Now I don’t need glasses or contacts at all. Life changing, indeed!

    I tell almost everyone I know/meet that besides placing my 3 newborn children on my chest/in my arms, it is by far the most life-changing transformation I could have imagined!!  Words cannot describe the miracle that it really is!  And I am blessed…… I don’t have any discomfort during the day/evenings.   It is absolutely incredibly amazing!!! I started swimming last week again as well.  And that is truly life-changing. Dr Chu’s name has gone to almost anyone I know.
