Direct Brow Lift
A direct “brow lift” is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired. Brow lift surgery works by removing muscles and tissues that cause the brow to droop, allowing the brow lift to create a smoother looking forehead. The direct brow lift procedure takes approximately one and a half hours.
There is minimal if any discomfort with this treatment. Topical, local and sometimes IV sedation is all that is used. Any discomfort after the procedure is easily be controlled with cool compresses and over-the-counter pain relievers. There can be some minor swelling and redness after surgery that quickly disappears within a matter of days. Redness can persist for up to one week. Sutures absorb by one to two weeks.
